Over 100 thousand patients and 5,000 physicians of a large medical device manufacturer were being supported with prior authorization and patient support services. In 2015, the owners of a company providing services to a large medical device manufacturer were in process of dissolving the company. Jorge Amaro, as the COO of that company, felt the overwhelming burden of responsibility to care for the well-being of patients served at that time and the employees who care for them. With no easy alternatives available, Jorge was successful in creating a new company, A3i. He was able to retain a core team of employees and did not drop any support to patients or physicians during the transition. A3i continues to serve patients and evolve based on his deep values for the well-being of patients and employees, which is now embedded in the A3i culture.
Our Evolution of Serving Patients
In 2009 the team began by providing prior authorizations to physicians and medical device manufacturers saving them time and money with cleaner claims. In 2011 we consolidated patient support, advocacy and protocol compliance for better outcomes. In 2014 data collection allowed physicians to manage by fact and manufactures receive product efficacy information improving consumer satisfaction. In 2016, the A3i Team began to improve HEDIS ® Quality Scores by identifying care gaps resulting in patient referrals for proper care. A3i will continue to evolve providing greater value to providers, health plans and device manufacturers as we serve patients.
